PES College of Engineering Mandya is one the reputed colleges in the state of Karnataka under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. This institute is also recognized by (AICTE) All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. Earlier this college was affiliated to University of Mysore. This institute functions under grant-in-aid scheme of Govt. of Karnataka. The college came into existence in the year 1962 by People's Education Society in Mandya district. The main aim with which it was started was to provide education for the rural areas. This society was founded by Sri K.V. Shankaregowda whose was the than Education Minister in the state of Karnataka. This dynamic person has a mission and ambition in serving the people from education point of view. The college is located along the Bangalore Mysore in the southern portion of Mandya. The college is spread over 62 acres of land with a major portion with greenery. This college is around 45kms from Mysore and 100 Kms from Bangalore. As this city lies on the national highway and the broad gauge railway line the city has developed a lot in the years gone by and the college also has developed a lot in those years. Mandya is mainly known for sugarcane and is known as a land of sugar. There are a number of scenic spots in and around here like the Barachukki, Gaganachukki waterfalls at Shivanasamudram, Brindavan Gardens at KRS & Historical place in Srirangapatna.
