JSS Medical College Mysore (JSSMC) was started in the year 1984-85 at Shri Shivaratheershwara Nagar Mysore. The campus is spread across a 43 acres land in the historical city of Mysore. The place is identified by its pleasant weather round the year. The values, vision and mission adopted by the institution have driven the college to achieve coveted heights to reach into a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of UGC Act in 2008-09 onwards. It has also gained the accreditation by NAAC. The college is approved by the Medical Council of India. The courses are also recognized by the general Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical council and WHO. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore from1995-96. “Work is worship” is the mission adopted by JSSMC. Its vision is to provide leadership in medical education and to contribute to the humane and cost effective health care. JSS Medical College Mysore (JSSMC) has a teaching hospital with 1800 beds with most modern facilities. The hospital is run by the JSS institutions on the basis of no profit and only service to the humanity. It has state of the art ICU, various scanning facilities including, 128 slice CT scan, MRI scan. The facilities in the college include library and information center. Separate hostels for boys and women’s hostel. Sports and recreation, banking etc. Admissions are given based on the ranking obtained in CET for seats allotted to Govt. on merits and as per category wise reservations as per Govt. guidelines. For management quota as per the ranking obtained in a common entrance test conducted by the management of private colleges for this purpose on an all India basis. NRI quota is available. Eligibility
A pass in 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognized board/university with a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate and Chemistry Physics and Biology as the compulsory subjects. The candidate seeking admission must have attained the age of 17 years.
